Bits of wisdom

Knows but doesn't know he knows... asleep, wake him up.
Knows he doesn't know... teach him, good man.
Doesn't know he doesn't know... a fool, avoid him.
Knows he knows... wise, follow him...

Tension is who you think you should be. Relaxation is who you are

To Speak or NOT to SpeakIf it is not truthful and not helpful don't say itIf it is Truthful and not helpful don't say it.If it is Not truthful and helpful don't say itIf it is both Truthful and Helpful ...Wait for the right time

People are illogical, unreasonable and self-centered. Love them anyway. If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. Do good anyway. If you are successful, you win false friends and true enemies. Succeed anyway. The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway.Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable. Be honest and frank anyway. The biggest persons with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest persons with the smallest minds. Think big anyway.People favor underdogs but follow only top dogs. Fight for a few underdogs anyway. What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight. Build anyway.People really need help, but may attack you if you do help them. Help them anyway.Give the world the best you have and you'll get kicked in the teeth. Give the world the best you have anyway.."

Many things in life will catch your eye but few will catch your heart... Pursue those

Friendship with the upright, with the truthful and with the well informed is beneficial. Friendship with those who flatter, with those who are meek and who compromise with principles, and with those who talk cleverly is harmful

The trouble with being in the rat race is that even if you win, you're still a rat

Now is a rushing river. There are those who would hug the shore, but there is no shore. Push off into the stream. Hold your head above the frey. See who else is in the midst of things, and celebrate

Freedom is necessary for honesty, honesty for integrity, integrity for power, power for creativity, and all of them for intimacy

Fall down seven times, get up eight

A hundred years from now it will not matter the sort of house I lived in, what my bank account was, or the car I drove...but the world may be a better place because I was important in the life of a child or one of God's creatures on this earth

If you live your life out of memory, you live out of your history. That's what once was. If you live out of your imagination, you live out of your potential. That's what can be

We've got this gift of love, but love is like a precious plant. You can't just leave it in the cupboard and think it's going to get on by itself. You've got to keep watering it, to really look after it and nurture it

The most wasted of all days is one without laughter

The person who seeks all their applause from outside has their happiness in another's keeping

Miracles start to happen when you give as much energy to your dreams as you do to your fears

If you want to build a ship, don't drum up people together to collect wood and don't assign them tasks and work, but rather teach them to long for the endless immensity of the sea

Today's mighty oak is just yesterday's nut that held its ground

If you always do what you've always doneYou'll always be where you are right now

And the trouble is, if you don't risk anything, then you risk even more

The gift is not how much you ARE loved, the gift is how much you are ABLE TO love

Creativity is seeing what everyone sees and thinking what no one else has thought of before

The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen nor touched but are felt in the heart

Act mindfully. Accept entirely. Move strongly. Think softly. Speak beautifully. Live simply. Love completely

If you love something... set it free.If it returns... you never lost it.If it disappears and never comes back.It was never yours to begin with

It's no good running a pig farm for 30 years while saying 'I was meant to be a dancer.' By that time, pigs are your style.

Mix a little foolishness with your prudence: it's good to be silly at the right moment

The grape passes through the press to yield wine. Your life must pass through the press of passion and pain to yield the wine of wisdom

A Native American elder once described his own inner struggles in this manner: Inside of me there are two dogs. One of the dogs is mean and evil. The other dog is good. The mean dog fights the good dog all the time." When asked which dog wins, he reflected for a moment and replied, 'The one I feed the most'

As you go the way of life, you will see a great chasm. Jump. It is not as wide as you think

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover

If you weep because the sun has set, your own tears will never let you see the stars

Doing nothing in fear of making a mistake, is the greatest mistake you'll make

Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure, Life is either a daring experiment or nothing at all

The shell must break before the bird can fly

Enlightenment is your ego's biggest disappointment

The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, not to worry about the future, nor to anticipate troubles, but to live in the present moment wisely and earnestly
Tenderness and kindness are not signs of weakness and despair, but manifestations of strength and resolutions

To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded

Fear less, hope more, eat less, chew more, whine less, breathe more, talk less, say more, love more, and all good things will be yours
